Wizz Air has issued a travel warning to customers, warning that flight delays may continue throughout the summer due to “airport slot management issues” caused by extreme weather.
These disruptions are expected to continue for the next few months.
The airline said the delays were outside its control but apologised to affected customers.
Extreme weather has affected flights for many airlines across Europe, with Wizz Air experiencing more than 30,000 additional airport slot delays in the past four weeks compared to the same period last year.
Ryanair has also recently reported flight disruptions due to widespread thunderstorms, advising passengers to check its app for real-time updates on flight status and next steps.
Customers who booked directly with Wizz Air will receive updates about schedule changes via text message and email.
