Tech Mahindra has announced that it will expand its Business Processing Services (BPS) operations in the Baltic states with the establishment of a new center in Riga, Latvia (officially the Republic of Latvia), a country on the Baltic Sea coast of Northern Europe.

This new market expansion is an important part of Tech Mahindra’s ongoing strategy to provide innovative technology solutions worldwide. The opening ceremony of the center was attended by Indian Ambassador to Latvia and Sweden H.E. Mr. Tanmaya Lal, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Juris Miezajnis and Mayor of Riga Mr. Vilnius Kirsys.

The expansion of its BPS business will see Tech Mahindra strengthen its presence in Europe, providing local and regional customers direct access to comprehensive services including 5G, Metaverse, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. Tech Mahindra will establish cutting-edge Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services within its state-of-the-art Jaunā Teika complex.

“Tech Mahindra’s expansion into the Baltics marks a pivotal step in our growth strategy. Latvia’s vibrant tech ecosystem, skilled workforce, robust IT infrastructure and favorable government policies make it an ideal base to access the European market. This expansion underscores our commitment to regional growth and technological advancements in Europe, helping our clients expand and adapt their businesses faster than ever before,” said Virendra Sen, head of Business Process Services, Tech Mahindra.

The centre will employ around 500 professionals, further expanding Tech Mahindra’s global workforce of over 145,000 employees across over 90 countries.

Mayor of Riga, Vilnius Kirsys said: “The opening of Tech Mahindra’s new service centre in Riga is yet another testament to the city’s development and increasing competitiveness. Riga is becoming an increasingly attractive city for global business service centres. Their presence will foster growth and innovation in research and smart technologies. High quality services will improve the local business environment and make companies more efficient. We welcome Tech Mahindra to Latvia!”

Tech Mahindra’s commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its new office in Jauna Tejka, a major business hub in Latvia known for its dedication to innovation and sustainability. The facility is BREEAM certified, a globally recognized program managed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE). The office complex meets the highest standards of sustainable building design and features the largest electric vehicle charging station in the Baltics, a vast multi-storey car park and adaptable office layouts to meet the diverse needs of its occupants.

“Attracting a global company like Tech Mahindra is a remarkable achievement for the property owner and our country, especially given the recent downturn in Riga’s office market. These collaborations strategically position our capital city as a dynamic and competitive location for technology companies, positively impacting the local economy, workforce and overall reputation,” said Viktors Savins, CEO of Eften Capital Latvia.

Tech Mahindra Business Process Services is at the forefront of future-ready technologies with 55+ delivery centres across 15 countries, serving 270+ clients globally in 50+ languages.
