Rail Europe announces winners of Dream Journey campaign

Rail Europe has named Justin Pieri of Travel Associates Belconnen as the winner of its inaugural Dream Journey campaign.

Having submitted a striking poem detailing his dream of experiencing some of the world’s most beautiful trains in Switzerland, along with some excited photos of himself superimposed on some of those trains (first class, no doubt), Justin may be making his dream trip a reality in the near future.

Due to the large number of original submissions received, Rail Europe will also be awarding Eurail passes and $100 gift vouchers to Aaron Marr (Helloworld Coffs Harbour), Matt Carter (Journeys Retold NZ), Rita Malik (Tailormade Travelling) and Alexander Taylor (The Fabulous Travel Consultants) for their most compelling submissions.

“We are overwhelmed by the incredible amount of high-quality submissions we received for this campaign,” said Richard Leonard, general manager, Asia Pacific. “It’s clear that European rail travel is the ’emerging trend’ and extremely popular among our travel advisors, with many demonstrating their knowledge of train routes and destinations and their enthusiasm to experience them for themselves.”

The Dream Journeys competition was an integral part of the company’s wider campaign to educate, inspire and encourage travel advisors about Rail Europe’s extensive resources, advanced booking tools and ongoing activities.

Launched in February with the launch of a comprehensive digital map, Rail Europe ran a Trip Advisor Writer Competition in March, in which Andrew Sullivan (The Don’t Forget Travel Group) documented and shared his train journey from London to Amsterdam, via Switzerland, to Italy.

An ongoing “Weekly Tip” shares practical information to help advisors sell European trains more effectively, and last month Rail Europe released its Rail Itineraries brochure featuring specially curated four-, seven- and 15-day thematic itineraries around single or multiple countries on the continent.

“We continue to innovate and actively work with key distribution partners to encourage both advisors and their clients to explore Europe in a more sustainable way by rail, including the opportunity to take part in two specially designed rail itineraries in October,” Leonard said.

Advisors can visit Rail Europe’s private FB page for more information and those who haven’t already can get their login details to the Rail Portal and sign up to Rail Europe’s monthly webinars and private Facebook group to enable seamless commission payments and access exclusive incentives and offers.

With over 200 rail companies from over 70 countries on its platform, Rail Europe continues to invest heavily in advanced technology and tools to promote the different carriers, routes and destinations, as well as provide valuable information and inspiration to its users and partners.
