Summer is in full swing, and with A-listers like Reese Witherspoon kicking off the season in Europe, the dream of traveling abroad is becoming a reality.
Luckily, even if you can’t actually fly to Europe, there are movies that can transport you to your dream destinations without leaving the comfort of your couch. Take The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which follows Alexis Bledel’s character Lena as she finds love in Greece.
“They made me run around like crazy,” Bledel told MovieWeb in May 2005 about filming in the Greek Islands. “They made me ride Vespa scooters and motorbikes, which I’d never ridden in my life. I swam, I rode donkeys, I painted. It was like I was at summer camp.”
European destinations like Italy, England, Scotland and Ireland are popular in the world of film, and lucky for movie buffs, you can be transported to them in a flash.
