Matt Harrison heads Toyota Motor Europe’s corporate operations across Corporate Affairs, Legal, Quality, IT&D, Circular Economy & Energy businesses and Sustainability Management.
Harrison joined Toyota UK in 2000 as general manager of vehicle marketing and was promoted to marketing director in 2003.
Mr Harrison moved to Toyota Motor Europe in 2005 as General Manager, Corporate Planning and was subsequently appointed General Manager, Sales Planning in 2006. In 2008, Mr Harrison was promoted to Director of Lexus Europe.
Matt Harrison returned to Toyota GB in 2011 as Commercial Director and in 2013 was appointed President and Managing Director of Toyota GB PLC.
Harrison was appointed Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Motor Europe in 2015 and Executive Vice President, Sales, Toyota Motor Europe in 2019.
Matt Harrison served as President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation’s Europe region from 2021 to 2022.
As part of an enhanced management structure to optimize current business performance, while at the same time accelerating business transformation actions to prepare for a carbon-neutral future for Europe, Matt was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Motor Europe in 2023. In this role, he was responsible for the operational excellence and commercial performance of Toyota’s sales, manufacturing and R&D business divisions across the region.
From January 2024, Matt’s responsibilities will be increasingly focused on Toyota’s European corporate business.
He previously worked in the automotive industry for 10 years with Ford Motor Company in sales and marketing roles across the UK, Europe and internationally.
Matt was born in Oldham in July 1968 and grew up in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Financial Accounting from the University of Kingston upon Hull. He is married with two children and enjoys family life, squash and skiing in his spare time.
