German digital tax filing platform Taxfix has signed a definitive agreement to acquire UK accountant-assisted digital tax filing company TaxScouts.
Since its launch in 2017, TaxScouts has established a strong presence in the UK and Spain, supported by over 150 tax accountants.
The company is headquartered in London, UK, with additional offices in Madrid, Spain and Tallinn, Estonia.
This strategic move sees Taxfix enter the UK market, consolidating its position as a financial technology leader in Europe and offering a full range of tax preparation services in the four largest European markets: Germany, UK, Spain and Italy.
Martin Ott, CEO of Taxfix, said:
“The acquisition of TaxScouts marks an important step in our European expansion.
For many people across Europe, filing taxes can be a daunting and painful process. At TaxScouts, we share the same mission: to break down barriers and empower our users to take control of their finances, starting with filing their taxes.”
Malcolm Cowley, CEO of TaxScouts, said:
“We are thrilled to join the Taxfix family. Providing an excellent service to our clients is at the heart of what we do and this partnership enables us to leverage Taxfix’s innovative approach and extensive resources to strengthen our offering in the UK and Spain.”
Our teams are a great fit and share a common mission: to simplify tax filing and reduce the stress that comes with it for everyone.”
TaxScouts’ 40-strong team will join forces with Taxfix to foster collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing across the market.
TaxScouts CEO Malcolm Cowley will continue to lead TaxScouts within the Taxfix Group. TaxScouts founders Kaupo Korv and Daniel Karger will continue as CPO and CTO of TaxScouts and will work closely with the Taxfix leadership team.
The Taxfix Group is on a sustainable growth path with the successful acquisition of Steuerbot in 2023. To date, Taxfix has helped more than 5 million customers and secured more than 3.5 billion euro refunds for European taxpayers.
