Aurora’s first pan-European focused energy finance conference will take place in Paris on 9 October 2024. Around 250 key players from the European energy finance industry are expected to attend. They will discuss the role of private capital in scaling up investment in low-carbon electricity infrastructure and the need for continued project financing to avoid a slump in energy markets.
PARIS (AURORA ENERGY RESEARCH) — Aurora Energy Research, the world’s leading electricity analytics provider, will host the inaugural Aurora Energy Finance Conference in Paris on October 9, 2024.
Under the title “Closing the Investment Gap: Accelerating Europe’s Path to Net Zero with Private Capital”, the conference aims to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss and strategise on leveraging private capital to drive the energy transition and support Europe’s ambitious net-zero target.
The conference is expected to attract 250 participants from across the European energy finance industry, including developers, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), project finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisors, fund managers, lending banks and government representatives.
Participants will learn how project sponsors and lenders can mitigate risk by integrating technologies such as battery storage, introducing new business models such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), better anticipating challenges such as grid curtailment, and leveraging innovative financing structures that better allocate risk.
In addition to Aurora’s expert speakers, the lineup will include industry experts such as:
Toni Volpe, CEO of Lunantis Isabel Rodriguez de Rivera, Managing Director of Renewable Energy Investments at Glennmont Partners Jerome Tricot, Market Director of Energy Transition Infrastructure at Mirova
Pierre Dennery, Head of France at Aurora Energy Research, commented on the importance of the summit:
“The scale of investment required to achieve Europe’s energy transition goals can only be achieved with significant private sector participation. However, the path to deploying long-term capital is hindered by the emergence of new market risks. We are pleased to bring together European sponsors, investors and financiers who are at the forefront of addressing these risks to discuss the best strategies to maximise capital flows to the energy transition.”
The conference is a half-day event supported by Mirova, with more partners expected to be announced in the coming days.
