Summer is finally here in Toronto and the city is buzzing with activity, but it’s not too early to start planning your trip for when the cold weather returns.
For jetsetters thinking about traveling to Europe in the coming months, a new Iceland-based budget airline is running a sale on deeply discounted fall and winter fares, with flights from Ontario starting at just $109.
PLAY Airlines’ flash sale begins today, July 2, offering cheap flights to a variety of destinations from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, about an hour’s drive from downtown Toronto and not far from Toronto’s main international hub.
Travel dates are in September, October, November, and December, with plenty of options at prices far lower than typical European trips (added perk: no summer crowds!).
The best deal is to Reykjavik, Iceland, the airline’s home base, between September 2 and December 15, 2024, with fares as low as C$109 one-way.
Or, you can take advantage of promotional flights to Dublin, Ireland, London, UK, Berlin, Germany or Paris, France from just $139 CAD when you book travel during the applicable time period between September 5 and December 15.
The ticket is the airline’s basic package, which includes taxes and other fees, but passengers should travel light, as the fare does not include a carry-on baggage allowance other than a personal item.
All PLAY flights also include a stopover at Keflavik International Airport, allowing you to stretch your legs and break up your itinerary. If you want to explore Iceland as well, you can extend your trip at no extra flight cost.
The sale will run online until July 8th.
