Qantas has integrated its interline flights with American Airlines into its dedicated New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform.
The Australian airline said travel management companies and travel agents would have access to a “wider choice of destinations” through the Qantas Distribution Platform, which was launched in March.
American Airlines is the first interline partner to appear on the platform, but content is limited as ancillaries are only available on booked segments operated or managed by Qantas.
When purchasing content via the Platform, flights operated and marketed by Qantas will have priority over interline options, and according to the airline, interline flights may be included as an additional itinerary option.
Qantas confirmed on its website that TMCs will earn base commission on interline flights booked through the portal, and members of its frequent flyer loyalty program will be able to earn points for flights booked with eligible oneworld and partner airlines.
Qantas’ NDC platform is currently available in 60 countries, including 27 European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK, and the airline said it has plans to “further expand its network of available destinations, flight options and airlines”, including by adding more content interline partners.
