Milan Fashion Week is finally here, with legendary designers like Prada and Roberto Cavalli in full force. Some exciting trends have been announced for Fall/Winter 2024 and beyond, but the biggest one so far is nipples.
Milan Fashion Week has proven to be an equally exciting corner of fashion month as its predecessors, New York and London Fashion Week, and unsurprisingly, Italian brands represented this bold trend with a common style ethos: looks that were decadent in nature, with an affinity for the unexpected.
At Prada, for example, sheer dresses were accented with embroidered furry florals, while Emporio Armani took elegant evening dresses (with sparkly beaded jackets) into daring see-through territory.
A variety of patterns and prints also kept this risqué trend fresh and offered plenty of styling possibilities. Roberto Cavalli and Antonio Marras both featured nipples beneath abstract prints. Despite being a practical styling technique — see-through tops and trousers, LBDs with exposed underwear — the resulting looks were seductive, to say the least.
Below, we take a look at Milan Fashion Week’s best nipple-liberation moments so far.

Tom Ford has been shocking the industry with his see-through dresses since his time at Gucci in the ’90s, and his eponymous brand’s autumn/winter 2024 collection saw a return of that bold sensibility, showcasing a glamorous gold dress that was completely nude.
Sport Max

The fur-centric “Mafia Wives” aesthetic got an NSFW twist at Sportmax, where one model wore a monochromatic bustier dress with a see-through bra and, oh, and of course, a fluffy jacket.
Moschino

Moschino took an understated approach that it’s not known for, layering pale chocolate chiffon for a peek-a-boo look, and embellished with luxurious threads of pearls throughout, the style was a stark departure from the label’s usual extravagant execution.
Philosophy Lorenzo Serafini

Pearls are definitely a hot topic at MFW, and another look from Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini took to the runway, taking things from demure to bold pearlescent looks.
Prada

Prada’s equestrian-inspired runway included this chic piece: a sheer white dress with fluffy embroidery, teamed with riding boots, a towering hat and a Prada Cleo bag.
Roberto Cavalli

A key part of Roberto Cavalli’s style DNA, the unconventional print was a centerpiece on the label’s Fall 2024 catwalk – only this season, it was paired with completely transparent tops.
Antonio Marras

How do you instantly make an LBD more glamorous? By adding flattering prints and sheer fabrics, of course. Case in point: At Antonio Marras, a leaf-inspired print blossoms on a flowing chiffon gown. The print is outlined in metallic silver for an extra dose of glamour.
Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani has relaunched your grandma’s favorite beaded jacket, and it’s super chic. The nipple-enhancing style is embellished with rainbow-hued beads, but of course, in the sheerest of fabrics.
Twin Set

Twinset put a Victorian-era twist on the sheer dress, featuring puffed sleeves, bib detailing and luxurious eyelet lace.
