Rail Europe, the leader in rail bookings in Europe, is pleased to announce a significant event in Bangkok, spearheaded by Richard Leonard, General Manager Asia Pacific. The initiative is a strategic effort to strengthen Rail Europe’s foothold in the Southeast Asian market. The event will be focused on growing its market presence, building relationships with key travel partners and uncovering new opportunities within the region.
During his stay, Richard Leonard will work with travel agents and engage with both trade and consumer media, sharing insights into Rail Europe’s upcoming operations, cutting-edge innovations and recent advancements in European rail travel, and will also use the opportunity to recognise and thank key partners for their collaboration and hard work over the years.
In a major development, Rail Europe is introducing its long-awaited Rail Itineraries e-brochure. The e-brochure features a selection of 4-, 7- and 15-day rail itineraries across Europe, covering both single and multi-country trips. Designed to help travel advisors plan memorable European rail trips, these itineraries cover themes such as history, art, culture, gastronomy, natural scenery and unique European adventures, featuring experiences in quaint, quirky and medieval settings. The brochure showcases a range of destinations across Europe, including Great Britain and Ireland, France and Monaco, Spain and Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, Greece and its islands, Central Europe and extensive multi-country tours.
“We’re excited to deepen our engagement with the Southeast Asian market and provide a valuable resource to inspire and support travel advisors,” said Richard Leonard, General Manager, Asia Pacific, Rail Europe. “Though Thailand got off to a slow start post-pandemic, it has shown maturity and resilience, doubling its 2023 sales compared to 2022. Looking ahead to 2024, we’re already seeing year-to-date increases compared to 2023, and we expect to surpass 2019 sales by the end of the year.”
In addition, Rail Europe will be running a B2B competition exclusively for Thai travel agencies, challenging them to create their perfect itinerary for Switzerland. The competition, which will run until the end of July, will give participants the chance to win their dream trip. The competition will be promoted across Rail Europe channels and through targeted campaigns on Facebook.
