The CrossFit Games is currently one of the most highly-anticipated competitions in the fitness world, but it wasn’t that long ago, having been founded in 2007. However, since then, the games have only been held in the U.S. However, that may not be the case for much longer, as Dave Castro has revealed that he wants to bring the 2027 CrossFit Games to Europe.
The sport of CrossFit is growing year by year. What started as a popular activity in the United States has quickly become the preferred sport for athletes on other continents, especially Europe.
So Dave Castro, one of the leading figures in CrossFit, recently interviewed Laura Horvath, the fittest woman on the planet. During the conversation, Laura (representing Hungary) asked Dave if there were plans for the CrossFit Games to be held in Europe, and the answer was quite interesting.
“Absolutely. That’s the plan. Hopefully everything works out and it happens. We would love to have the 21st Olympics in Europe,” Dave Castro said.
“So I’ll probably still be competing by then, which would be awesome,” Laura Holbert replied.

Interestingly, the second largest CrossFit competition of the season, the 2024 Rogue Invitational, has also made a historic change and decided to hold it in Europe – specifically, in Scotland later this year.
This year will mark the 18th CrossFit Games and will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, from Aug. 8 to 11. It will be the new location as Madison hosted the games from 2017 to 2023. Castro said he hopes to bring the 2025 and 2026 games to Texas as well.
The 2024 CrossFit Games is special for many reasons, but most notably it will mark the long-awaited return of athlete Tiaclaïa Toomey, who missed the 2023 Games due to pregnancy. She will be aiming for her eighth title this year.
Meanwhile, the 2024 CrossFit Games lineup is extremely strong across all three disciplines, and we expect some very interesting competition.

Moving the CrossFit Games to Europe will undoubtedly mark a new era for the sport, mainly due to its international expansion, which will not only impact the competitive side of the sport, but also has the potential to inspire others to casually start training and improve their physical fitness.
