Fashion weeks continued to roll out across Europe on September 19th, but all eyes were on Milan, with a jam-packed schedule of 176 appointments, presentations, and parties. Three shows in particular drew attention: Peter Hawkings made his debut at Tom Ford on the 21st, presenting a lineup that paid tribute to his mentor and the label’s founder. Two days later, Simone Bellotti presented his first collection at Bally. But the biggest headline of the season was Sabato De Sarno, who presented his first collection as creative director of Gucci on the 22nd. Following four collections designed without a creative director, De Sarno presented a vision for the Italian brand that represented a clear, streamlined reset after Alessandro Michele’s shock departure last year.

Plus, Moschino’s 40th anniversary presentation featured four stylists interpreting the brand’s archives in the absence of a creative director (Jeremy Scott left the role earlier this year). But the Spring 2024 shows were more than just a shuffle: Milan mainstays Prada and Bottega Veneta re-presented what are widely considered standout collections from the Italian fashion capital. And, as has become customary, Giorgio Armani closed out the show with glamorous daywear and gowns for the red carpet. Keep scrolling for your front-row look at this week’s best looks.
