5. Luxury sportswear
Gone are the days when sportswear was only for sports activities. Perhaps it’s because the pandemic lockdown has made it mainstream for everyday wear, but sportswear staples are slowly making their way into our everyday wardrobe these days, especially in the summer of 2024. Hooded sweatshirts are oversized and replacing casual day dresses, monochrome zip-up track tops are perfect for pairing with your favorite denim, and cropped leggings reminiscent of ’60s pedal pushers are the perfect style to pair with heeled pumps. Comfortable to wear? No need to say anymore.

6. Rose-Colored Days
Florals for spring… we know what you’re thinking. But before you go and tell us off like Miranda Priestly, listen up. We’re not talking about run-of-the-mill florals. This trend is strictly roses. Countless designers touted the world’s most traditional and romantic stems on their spring/summer runways. Simone Rocha, as always, took it a step further by incorporating real roses into many of her stunning sheer gowns. Whether you go that far is up to you, but if you’re in the mood for floral fashion this summer, make sure it’s all rose-colored.

7. Metallic
Christmas and the party season may be behind us now, but that doesn’t seem like a reason to clean up your wardrobe. In fact, metallic colors will suit you and your outfits well for the coming months. Gold and silver are shaping up to be one of the hottest color trends for 2024. Of course, this trend is best suited for evening wear, but once summer arrives, there’s no excuse to miss out on this trend, as Miu Miu and Rabanne offer the perfect dressed-down version with clever layering.

8. The Modern Bride
While my own bridal days may be behind me now (sending love and encouragement to all of you who are planning right now!), I’m always on the lookout for at least one upcoming bridal trend. After all, bridal is one of the most joyous fashion moments of our lives. In 2024, dropped waists, XXL hip pads, and oversized sleeves will turn out to be the most popular silhouettes and look especially contemporary.

9. Short Shorts
If you’ve been paying any attention to the celebrity fashion circuit in recent weeks, this last trend won’t come as a surprise. Micro shorts (i.e., panties-like) have really taken off since they hit the runways, with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Beyoncé joining the street style crowd to try out the trend. Of course, you’ll need some courage and warm weather to pull off these shorts, which expose nearly half of your body. If you want to take the trend a bit further, do as Alexander McQueen did and pair them with thigh-high boots for a little more coverage.
